auncha-browneIn her role as the NCAA’s vice president of women’s basketball championships, Anucha Browne sets the strategic direction for and oversees the operation and management of the NCAA Division I, II and III women’s basketball championships.  Under her guidance since August, 2012, NCAA women’s basketball championships have continued to impact the lives of thousands of student‐athletes each year. The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship is widely regarded as America’s marquee women’s sporting event and are watched in person or on television by over 11 million fans each year. 

A former top student‐athlete herself, Browne was Northwestern University’s first All‐American women’s basketball player and set 24 school records. She was inducted into the Northwestern Wildcats Hall of Fame in 1993. She was named Northwestern’ s women’s basketball player of the decade in 1992.
